About Frans Mulder - Wildlife and Landscape Painter
Mulder’s work emanates a brooding gravitas, reflecting the timelessness of the East Cape landscape – vegetation exhausted by weather extremes; vast skies; bleaching heat and black shadows. He is known internationally for his outsized landscapes and wildlife studies, most notably of the painted dog (the Cape Wild Dog.)
He works mainly in oil on canvas; museum quality prints on archival paper are available of selected pieces. Mulder is to exhibit with Justine Bussiahn at the National National Arts Festival (Grahamstown 30 June to 10 July). He has also been invited to submit work for an exhibition called “Skin” at the NMM Art Gallery in Port Elizabeth which coincides with the Festival.
