A DAY IN THE VILLAGE

Go Back

Village and township gardens

Start your day at inspiring Maasström (our ‘mother’ garden: the village was established in the 1840s on a portion of this farm)(Garden assistants will offer their plants for sale.)

Then make your way to the SA Rosarium, a tranquil woodland garden and haven for a national collection of old roses. (Roses and other plants for sale at both these gardens)

Your next stop could be Cradock Street where you’ll find The Long Garden, designed by Franchesca Watson and featuring a meandering lawned path leading from formal plantings to a heritage rose arbour.

At this stage you should be ready for tea at De Oude Fabreeck Padstal before you walk around the  garden with a strong emphasis on edible gardening and recycling materials.
