A DAY IN THE VILLAGE

Go Back

Start at magnificent Maaström farm garden. It’s always a joy to stroll there and there is always something new.

Then head for the SA Rosarium where you will be able to do the 16-tree walk, buy roses and a wide selection of other plants, and have a cup of tea.

Spend the rest of the morning popping in at the open gardens in the village (the list is still growing). They all have lots to offer.

Pop in to the Presbyterian church for a moments quiet reflection amid the flowers arranged by loving amateurs. Bedford’s quilters will also display some of their work here.

Time to refuel? ... No problem: its lunch time all day at the Hope Street Hub where there’s a wide selection of food on offer. As you taste and nibble, amble through the shops and Country Market stalls. You may well be tempted to buy an early Christmas gift or two.

Leave the Hub and tour the Township Open Gardens arriving back at Eagle Hout in time for tea or something a bit stronger: the tea garden is fully licensed.
