- Open Gardens
A warm welcome awaits you at this Karoo-style garden that is both a place of healing & refuge for rescued arid-zone plants.
Hilda’s hospitality & quirky sense of humour are evident in her use of objects displaying her cacti, succulents & aloes.
Great inspiration for our water scare environment.
This garden was recently featured in The Gardener & Die Tuinier magazines.
Hilda and Francois are incredibly knowledgeable about unwritten local history as well as about the geology, fauna and flora of their area.
Ask Francois about local fossils and the African Grays and Cape parrots he breeds.
Tea/coffee and nibbles are on offer all day with traditional vetkoek (curried mince or golden syrup fillings) at lunch time. Picnics welcome.
Plants are for sale and there is a gate fee donation.
